A Tomica? A Mini 4WD? Of the Toyota's Iconic Car?! Adults Tag-Team to Bring Smiles to Children!

2025.05.14

For Children's Day, we cover two special projects full of adults' playful spirit that bring real-life experiences to children.

The McDonald’s x Takara Tomy x TOYOTA GAZOO Racing collab has become an annual event. This year, Happy Meals come with a Tomica GR Supra Safety Car!

*1 Available until May 15 while supplies last. Toy selection is made at random.
*2 Safety Car: A working car that guides cars during a race when there is an accident.

On April 20, at the Fuji Speedway (Oyama, Shizuoka) event for car lovers, the Motor Fan Festa, the real version of the car selected for this year’s mini car collab was unveiled: a GR Supra Safety Car. Many smiling children exclaimed, “Cool!” and took photos with the car.

There are eight of these real cars. At Toyota’s Motomachi Plant, they were all carefully wrapped and are scheduled to go on display at seven McDonald’s locations around Japan this month.

Of these cars, one is a very special Supra. Watch the video to find out why!

Next, in March at a location in Tokyo, a collaboration event was held with Tamiya and Lexus. Participants were invited to assemble Lexus LBX Morizo RR Mini 4WD toys.

Just like the real LBX, it’s a classy and impressive car with dynamic style. After assembly, participants applied stickers and finished the designs to reflect their personal style. Adults with memories of assembling Mini 4WDs also enjoyed an afternoon of reliving their childhoods.

Perhaps the most excited of all were the Lexus staff! For this event, they customized a real LBX to look like a Mini 4WD. At the root of this playful initiative that was popular with children was the urge to contribute to making real-life experiences.

“Cars are cool!” “Cars are fun!”

Adults tag-teamed to create an event full of children’s smiles. Enjoy this special feature made just for Children’s Day on May 5.
