Now when I said it was about "confidence in its abilities"...The design is there primarily to express the bold, strong...yet fun personality of the RAV4.
そして、見た目だけじゃなく、中身の基本性能も大事ですよね。
And it’s also about confidence in the fundamentals...
ステアリング、コーナリング、ブレーキ性能やトルク、パワーの伝達からボディ剛性に至るまで、より正確な運動性能を叶えるため、すべてを改良しました。
From steering...to turning to braking...from torque and power delivery...to body rigidity...
all have been improved for more precise dynamics.
特に力を入れたのは、新型RAV4は悪路走破性がさらに向上したことです。
And critically, the new RAV4 will have increased capability on rough roads...

However...it’s not always great for us as designers!
荷室を広くすると、どうしても平板に見えてしまう…。だからこそリアの張り出しを強調するアイデアを出しました。
But thanks to the tapered cabin architecture, together with a more vertical back window...
よりダイナミックなスタイルにしながら、使い勝手も向上させたのです。
We’ve increased versatility while still making the car more dynamic!
たくましい後ろ姿を見れば、その狙いはうまくいったと言えるでしょう。
And looking at the athletic rear stance, I’d say we achieved that goal.
さらに、それぞれのグレードの特徴を際立たせました。フロントデザインは明確に違いがあります。
Going one step further, each grade now has its own distinct character...The front design is clearly differentiated...
「アドベンチャーグレード」には、より大きなタイヤ、オーバーフェンダー、マルチテレインモニターなどが装備されています。
And the Adventure grade will have bigger wheels, overfenders, a multi-terrain monitor...and much more.
GR SPORT
さて、ここで終わりでもいいのですが、ステージ上にまだスペースがあることにお気づきですか？
